Job Summary:
We are seeking a Control Validation Security Specialist to perform audits on complex DoD information systems, applications, and networks to ensure compliance with Federal and DoD cybersecurity standards. This role involves evaluating existing controls, conducting security assessments, supporting audit readiness and assurance activities, and providing technical recommendations to improve system security and risk posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct IT security audits and cybersecurity control validation on DoD systems, applications, and networks.
• Evaluate system vulnerabilities and provide risk-based recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with DOD 8500.2, NIST SP 800-53, and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Support the Financial Statement Audit, SSAE-18, and Annual Statement of Assurance efforts.
• Provide technical guidance on audit readiness strategies and interpret complex regulatory requirements.
• Support efforts related to audit logging and eOPR implementations.
• Perform evaluations of security configurations and suggest enhancements.
• Assist with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) documentation and processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with DoD 8500.2, NIST SP 800-53, or RMF.
• Familiarity with eMASS, and ability to balance security with business operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex security issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity controls and how to assess their effectiveness.
• Possess a DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (IAM Level I or IAT Level II).
• Relevant industry certification (e.g., Security+, CAP, CISA, CISSP, or similar).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting DoD audit readiness initiatives or financial audits.
• Knowledge of interpreting audit findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Prior work experience with audit logging and assurance frameworks.
