Requirements

We are looking for a Senior Back-End ITPM / Scrum Master with strong data engineering skills and deep expertise in the mortgage industry . This role combines technical program management, agile delivery leadership, and Scrum Master responsibilities , with a strong emphasis on backend engineering and data-driven solution delivery.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on understanding of data engineering and backend technologies , proven experience working with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac , and exceptional client-facing and team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Scrum Master for multiple Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Agile principles and frameworks.
  

• Manage end-to-end delivery of backend and data engineering projects , ensuring scope, timeline, and quality.
  

• Partner with business stakeholders at Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac to define priorities and align technology initiatives.
  

• Oversee data engineering workstreams , including ETL, data pipelines, and backend integration.
  

• Provide program management oversight – planning, execution, risk management, reporting, and escalation.
  

• Foster strong collaboration between engineering, QA, DevOps, and business teams.
  

• Guide teams in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos).
  

• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, influencing technical and business decisions.
  

• Ensure delivery aligns with mortgage industry compliance, data security, and regulatory requirements .
  

• Mentor and coach team members to drive continuous improvement in Agile practices.
  

Qualifications & Skills

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in IT Program/Project Management , with at least 5+ years as a Scrum Master .
  

• Strong background in mortgage industry systems with direct experience at Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac .
  

• Understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL, data pipelines, data warehousing).
  

• Familiarity with backend stacks such as Java, Python/PySpark, PostgreSQL, AWS, MongoDB .
  

• Excellent client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  

• Proven team management and leadership skills across multiple pods.
  

• Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  

Preferred Skills

• SAFe Agilist, CSM, or PMP certifications.
  

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) .
  

• Knowledge of DevOps/CI-CD, Docker, Kubernetes .
  

• Exposure to data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks .
