Medical office experience preferred. Medical insurance authorization experience is a plus.
Onsite work model is preferred. Potential for remote work is available with this opportunity for candidates residing in the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia.
Referral Coordinator job responsibles include:
- Serves as a resource for Senior Director, Unit Directors, Managers, Social Workers, Case Managers and fellow team members. Provides direction, answers questions and resolves concerns including research and resolution of issues and requests ensuring a timely turnaround.
- On front line of referral process with post-acute providersand will be responsible for communicating with referral sources and making sure referrals are processed in a smooth and timely manner
- Post-Acute Referral Center to entire hospital (sending, receiving, and following up on referral) by gathering all appropriate information on the referral and then process appropriate services as needed
- Maintains databases and files, and effectively communicates with the leadership team and staff. Keeps files in a confidential manner.
- Utilizes computer skills to create and maintain databases, spreadsheet files, ensuring accuracy, production and distribution.
What We Require:
Education: Associate degree or equivalent combination of education or equivalent 4 years of experience required.
Virginia MLTSS (UAI) Certification required to complete orientation and must be maintained throughout employment.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Advanced computer skills with knowledge of a variety of software programs, including Microsoft word, Excel, Access, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation or database software. Excellent communications and organizational skills required.About Carilion
