Kelly is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to support a high-precision, defense-focused manufacturing environment in Hampton, VA .

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills
• Work with grinders and drill machines as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Select proper tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Perform precision measurements (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Inspect parts to ensure tight tolerance compliance
• Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure safe operation
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams

MUST HAVE

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience
• Hands-on experience with CNC lathe AND mill setup & operation (required)
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience with precision measuring tools
• Proven troubleshooting ability
• High attention to detail and quality

Preferred

• CNC programming or advanced setup experience
• CAD/CAM knowledge
• NIMS or similar certification
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or high-spec manufacturing

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing setting (noise, dust, machinery)
• Standing for extended periods
• Lifting up to 50 lbs
• PPE required
