Development Lead/Software Engineer

BDR is seeking a Development Lead/Software Engineer to join our growing team! This position will be performed virtually from the individual’s home office working on EST time schedule. This position requires US Citizenship with a Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.

Role Overview
We are actively seeking a Development Lead/Software Engineer to support our government client. The development lead/software engineer will be instrumental in helping to create new platforms and functionality. They will operate in a modern cloud environment where they will help to create web-based search applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications
- Write clean and maintainable code following industry standards
- Oversee system administration tasks such as deployments and management
- Collaborate with scientists, developers, and stakeholders to ensure user-friendly software
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in software development, preferably 2+ years in a lead role
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or other related field
- 5+ years of development experience with; Java, Python, R, Perl, C/C++, HTML, XML, JSON and SQL
- Proficient with large datasets and databases to include, SQL and MongoDB
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to performing a variety of duties, changing from one task to another of a different nature, without a loss of efficiency or composure
- Must have the ability to take initiative and be detail-orientated in a goal-orientated environment
In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
