The Software Engineer – Journeyman Level (Power Platform) delivers low-code and automation solutions that support mission‑critical Army National Guard (ARNG) workflows. This role designs and develops Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards that improve operational efficiency and data visibility across ARNG organizations. The engineer ensures all solutions meet DoD RMF, CUI handling, and cybersecurity requirements, while integrating reliably with legacy systems such as IPPS‑A, SMMS, RCAS, Vantage, and ADVANA. The position performs testing, maintains security compliance, and sustains ongoing operations to ensure uninterrupted availability of enterprise automation tools. Key Responsibilities
- Develop Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards for ARNG mission-critical processes.
- Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), encryption, and data protection controls aligned with DoD RMF and CUI guidelines.
- Build and maintain API-based integrations with ARNG legacy systems (IPPS‑A, SMMS, RCAS, Vantage, ADVANA).
- Conduct unit, functional, regression, and security testing for all Power Platform solutions.
- Maintain STIG and IAVM compliance across all releases and updates.
- Perform ongoing system updates, patching, and maintenance to ensure continuous operational availability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including configuration records and solution designs.
- Collaborate with analysts, administrators, and functional stakeholders to refine requirements and optimize workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of enterprise IT experience with development responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of DoD RMF, CUI data protection rules, and secure application design.
- Experience integrating APIs, data connectors, and external data sources.
- Understanding of STIG, IAVM, and DoD cybersecurity compliance processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in collaborative Agile development environments.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Certifications in Power Platform (PL‑300, PL‑400, etc.) or Microsoft cloud services.
- CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570‑aligned security certification.
- Experience integrating systems such as IPPS‑A, SMMS, RCAS, Vantage, or ADVANA.
- Familiarity with SQL, data modeling, and enterprise analytics.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing practices.
