About The Role

Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for but not limited to:
- Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents and plans.
- Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews.
- Support the network operations of the Production system.
- Provide the team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments.
- Develop, implement, and manage network engineering processes including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability.
- Perform capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability.
- Proactively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, to the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- Bachelors degree in engineering (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; Masters degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; PhD with three (3+) years of experience. 12 years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree.
- A current/valid IAT LVL III Certification (Security+ CE, CCNP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP).
- Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks.
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits.
- Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP).
- Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking.
- Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer.
Desired Qualifications:
- An Engineering degree with a networking focus.
- Eight (8+) total years of experience in the architecture/design, development, and implementation of Wide Area Network (WAN) architecture.
- Exceptional verbal, written (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience using Python to automate routine network tasks.
- Understanding and experience with Software Defined Network (SDN) deployments.
- Juniper Enterprise Routing and Switching, Professional (JNCIP-ENT).
- Advanced Network monitoring and log analysis tool experience with the ability to deploy and improve the current deployments of these systems.
- Experience working in a telecommunications carrier environment performing mission critical network implementations.
- Self-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with others.
- Experience with application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controls
