We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Radiographic Technician to provide assist physicians in performing diagnostic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images.
Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We provide cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment by highly-skilled, compassionate staff serving the Washington DC Metro area
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Performs radiology services for procedures utilizing c-arm and mini-c-arm support during surgical procedures
- Assures that all radiology equipment receives annual inspection by a physicist
- Maintains competence in utilization of c-arm and mini-c-arm and portable x-ray
- Ensures that dosimeter badges are sent for evaluation of radiation exposure at the appropriate intervals
- Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures
- Monitors radiation safety processes in all areas of the center
- Identifies equipment and supply needs to ensure high quality radiology service
- Performs on-going monitoring of x-ray gowns and shields to ensures that they are intact and able to provide protection for physicians and staff
- Maintains all records for inspections and radiation monitoring
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of an appropriate radiographic technician program. Certification preferred.
- Current CPR certification at hire, or earned within 90 days of employment
- Strong communication skills, ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
