Electronics Assembler (Contract)
Location: Lynchburg, VA
Company: System One
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: 3–6 months (potential for extension)
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role
System One is seeking an experienced Electronics Assembler to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. In this role, you will assemble electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical components according to product specifications. You’ll work under general supervision and contribute to building high-quality systems used across a variety of applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on assembly experience and a strong understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate to complex electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical/material assemblies

• Assemble systems such as audio, video, robotics, process control, data acquisition, filter fabrication, and mechanical modifications

• Perform printed circuit board assembly, point-to-point wiring, cable assembly, or filter mold fabrication

• Set up and operate tools and equipment used in the assembly process

• Provide guidance and support to junior-level Assemblers as needed

• Conduct appropriate quality checks to ensure all work meets specifications

• Handle hazardous materials safely and maintain a clean, compliant work environment

• Participate in promoting a safe and healthy workplace by following all safety and health policies

• Occasional travel to nuclear power generation sites may be required

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 3–5 years of related assembly experience

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics

• Understanding of basic electronic symbols and components

• Skilled in hand tools and basic electronic or mechanical test equipment

• Proficiency in electronic soldering or operating mechanical tooling

• Basic computer skills

• Knowledge of company and industry safety and health policies

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain stationary, walk, kneel, and crouch as needed

• Operate a computer and communicate effectively within the organization
