Position Overview
Mount Pleasant Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, organized, and spiritually mature leader to serve as our Children’s Pastor. This individual will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of our children’s ministry (birth through 5th grade), partnering with families to help children know, love, and follow Jesus.

The Children’s Pastor will play a key role in discipling the next generation and equipping volunteers to create a safe, engaging, and gospel-centered environment for our children.

Primary Responsibilities

Ministry Leadership & Vision

Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for children’s ministry aligned with the overall mission and vision of MPBC
Lead all children’s ministry environments, including Sunday mornings, midweek programming, and special events
Ensure all teaching is biblically sound, age-appropriate, and gospel-centered
Volunteer Recruitment & Development

Recruit, train, and shepherd a strong team of volunteers
Provide ongoing encouragement, support, and leadership development for team members
Create clear systems for scheduling, communication, and team care
Family Partnership

Equip and encourage parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children
Communicate regularly with families regarding ministry opportunities and resources
Provide support and guidance for families navigating spiritual development
Safety & Administration

Oversee and maintain all child safety and security policies and procedures
Ensure all volunteers are properly screened and trained
Manage ministry budget, supplies, and classroom environments
Coordinate use of curriculum and ministry resources
Events & Outreach

Plan and execute children-focused events (camps, outreach events, etc.) alongside of Children’s admin
Partner with other church ministries to integrate children into the broader life of the church
Engage the community as an avenue for outreach and connection
Qualifications

A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
A calling to children’s ministry and a heart for discipleship
Agreement with the doctrine (BFM, 2000) and mission of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to recruit, lead, and develop volunteers effectively
Bachelor’s degree (ministry-related field preferred, but not required)
