Dermatology Medical Assistant - Martinsville VA

QualDerm Partners is looking for a compassionate and skilled Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our Martinsville, VA team. Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and obtaining thorough medical histories.
• Assist physicians during examinations and dermatological procedures by preparing instruments and providing support.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis as needed.
• Maintain precise and confidential patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations.
• Manage appointment scheduling and facilitate effective communication within the practice.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and appropriate skincare techniques.
• Keep examination rooms clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary medical supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a dermatology clinical setting is desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dermatology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with patients effectively.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail in a clinical environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer applications is advantageous.
