Bilingual Legal Assistant

Full-time Bilingual Legal Assistant.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a requirement for this position.

The law offices of Krum, Gergely & Oates, LLC (Fairfax office) is seeking to hire a legal assistant to join our team! In this position, you will work alongside our attorneys and work on trial preparation. Your job duties include performing relevant legal research, preparing legal documents, drafting correspondence, and organizing and maintaining the office’s filing system. On a daily basis, you will also be responsible for general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, scheduling meetings, and ordering office supplies. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in a law firm and is proficient with Microsoft Office.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Salary: $18-23/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
• Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings.
• Assist a lawyer in preparing for a trial.
• Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
• Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
• Manage high volume of cases.
• Reviewing and collecting evidence.

Job Skills & Qualifications Required:

• Spanish speaking is required!
• High school diploma or (GED).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Proficient with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Excel.
• 1+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
