You’ll steer projects across education, civic, arts, and commercial sectors—balancing performance, efficiency, and code compliance while guiding teammates and partnering with clients.
Position Overview- Location: Roanoke, VA
- Job Type: Full-time
- Reports to: Engineering Leadership
- Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000
- Lead the mechanical design scope from concept through construction documentation.
- Design HVAC systems that deliver measurable performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Run load calculations, energy models, and system analyses (Trace, ComCheck) to validate decisions.
- Partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to align expectations and outcomes.
- Coach junior engineers—review work, share standards, and build capability.
- Guard project delivery—scope, schedule, and quality—so milestones are met.
- Streamline internal processes to improve consistency and speed without sacrificing rigor.
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience preferred, with emphasis on building HVAC.
- Comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel; Revit proficiency preferred.
- Strong communicator and presenter with a collaborative approach.
