Host
Position Overview:
We are looking for poised, personable Hosts to serve as the first and last impression of our upscale casual New American restaurant. This role is ideal for individuals who excel at creating a warm, polished welcome while managing the flow of service with grace and efficiency. The Host is a key part of the guest experience—balancing hospitality, organization, and communication to ensure every visit begins and ends seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet all guests with a warm, professional, and genuine welcome
- Manage reservations and waitlists using the restaurant’s booking system
- Accurately quote wait times and keep guests informed of seating status
- Escort guests to tables while maintaining awareness of dining room flow and server sections
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen to optimize seating and pacing
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and concerns with professionalism
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
- Answer phones, manage reservations, and provide accurate information about menus, hours, and policies
- Assist with coat check, menus, and other guest-facing details as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous host or customer service experience preferred (restaurant experience a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stay organized and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and friendly, confident demeanor
- Basic familiarity with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) preferred
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
