We are actively seeking an experienced PM with a strong background in planning and leading safety initiatives that align with long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive project management experience, combined with deep analytical capabilities and a keen sense of innovation, to lead complex projects from conception to completion. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, driving implementations, and communicating on status, risks and process/product changes to senior management. Cross-functional coordination, project management and executive communication skills are essential. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in transforming visions into actionable plans. In this role, you will handle program strategies, including the development and execution of detailed project roadmaps. You will work closely with various internal teams and stakeholders, harmonizing different perspectives and ensuring cohesive efforts towards common goals.

Some travel may be required (no more than 25%).

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional programs, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Set clear program goals, leveraging data analytics to drive improvements and achieve metrics.
  • Navigate and resolve ambiguities in business scenarios, applying creative problem-solving skills.
  • Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize resource allocation and project success.
  • Evaluate and prioritize projects in conjunction with customer needs and technical team inputs.
  • Bridge gaps in team dynamics, processes, and systems, preventing common project pitfalls.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.
  • Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.
  • Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.

About The Team

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx) is committed to the continual improvement of our people, processes, and performance to position Amazon as an industry leader in safety excellence. Drawing from field expertise, OpEx partners with cross-functional teams to resolve global challenges and proactively support 8,000+ WHS professionals. We partner with process owners to understand causal effects leading to defects, leverage process improvement tools and methodologies eliminating defects, improving efficiency, and driving change to optimize safety performance; creating a culture of safety excellence. We are open to hiring candidates to work from the following locations: Nashville, Bellevue or Arlington.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
  • Knowledge of global environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
