Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced International Procurement Specialist to lead product development initiatives and manage sourcing operations with overseas suppliers. This role is critical in introducing and promoting new office furniture products to our dealer network. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, international sourcing, and cross-functional collaboration to help drive growth and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Product Development & Selection
  • Identify and select new products tailored for the office furniture dealer market.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and manufacturing feasibility for new product introductions.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to position and promote high-potential products while addressing slow-moving items.
• International Supplier Management
  • Serve as a primary liaison between Open Plan Systems and international factories in China, Malaysia, and Taiwan .
  • Coordinate communication, timelines, and expectations to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Obtain and manage all necessary product drawings and technical specifications from suppliers.
• Manufacturing & Pricing Strategy
  • Apply a strong understanding of manufacturing operations to optimize product cost and quality.
  • Develop and implement a formal pricing plan that ensures targeted gross margin levels are achieved.
  • Provide accurate pricing and shipping information for new product rollouts.
• Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with Sales, Field Services, and Marketing teams to create promotional and support materials.
  • Partner with Distribution to plan and allocate space for incoming new product inventory.
  • Support the Marketing team with materials and data necessary for product design, web content, and promotional campaigns.

Additional Comments:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Product Development, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years of experience in international procurement, sourcing, or product development (preferably in office furniture or manufacturing)
• Strong knowledge of global manufacturing processes and cost structures
• Proven experience working with factories in Asia (China, Malaysia, Taiwan preferred)
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and project management abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with PLM software is a plus
