Park Properties Management Company , a full-service leader in property management, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Associate to provide functional support to the accounting department and Senior Vice President. The principal responsibilities include managing accounts payable functions, processing invoices and payments, performing various reconciliations, and preparing accounting entries and reports in a timely manner. This role ensures accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Additionally, the Accounting Associate will maintain strong relationships with vendors, reconcile accounts, and ensure smooth operations in accounts payable.

Job Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Invoice Processing: Accurately review, verify, and process invoices received from vendors and suppliers.
  • Payment Management: Ensure timely payment of invoices, manage payment schedules, and handle payment discrepancies. Responsible for accurate and complete processing of commercial properties tenant transactions.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, address inquiries, and resolve issues related to accounts payable.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed records of financial transactions. Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, and audit preparation. Update monthly analysis and prepare budget trend reports for a portfolio of properties.
  • Compliance: Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software and databases accurately.
  • Reconciliation: Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Support: Assist departments with annual budget preparation and reviews.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, an energetic work-ethic, and the ability to accurately manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must identify as a "teachable" employee and have a "can-do" attitude, professional correspondence etiquette, strong interpersonal skills, be a team player and take "ownership"/pride in work deliverables.
  • Must be able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment while managing conflicting priorities and be able to self-manage and complete tasks with a certain degree of autonomy.
  • Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
  • Requires high level of analytical skills; possesses account reconciliation capabilities; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Requires excellent mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel application including proven experience in created and using pivot tables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with Yardi software is a plus.

Education And Experience

  • Associate's degree in accounting or business.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business.
  • 3 years of accounting experience; real estate accounting experience preferred or public accounting.
