Travel Respiratory Therapist Job
Respiratory Therapist travel assignment in Norfolk, Virginia. Start date: 04/20/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. 36 guaranteed hours per week. - Deliver respiratory care per physician orders, including therapies such as oxygen administration, airway clearance, and humidification.
- Monitor respiratory status, vitals, and response to treatment; report changes to the interdisciplinary team.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment; ensure infection control and patient safety.
- Manage ventilator support and related protocols as scoped by facility policy; document care in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, transfers, and post-discharge considerations when applicable. Requirements
- Education: Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Associate or higher) from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Virginia Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility; active licensure preferred.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications as per policy are desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; skilled nursing facility or acute care experience preferred.
- Availability: Ability to work a 3x12 night shift, including Sundays, in a skilled nursing facility environment. Benefits and Support
