**Summary of Position (Job Purpose)** _- Major purpose and functions of the position._ This position is a support role for the Risk Management team. The Claims Assistant partners with internal and external stakeholders to aide in the management of claims and insurance matters. The primary responsibility is to support the team's efforts for claims resolution and cost mitigation strategies. This role will regularly interact with internal and external business partners, including legal counsel, insurance representatives, third party claims administrator and other stakeholders regarding claim issues. **Principal Duties and Responsibilities** _- Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance_ + Responsible for the intake and triage of claim calls, emails and mail + Ensure key documents related to claim investigation are provided to Sedgwick adjuster + Assist WC claim process by making initial follow up call to injured associate + Assist team in the update and maintenance of the claim team discovery library + Administrative duties, such as filing, sorting, etc. + Assist with the coordination and preservation of data for legal holds associated with claims, litigation and investigations + Assist with claims reports + Special projects assigned by Director of Risk Management **Minimum Requirements/Qualifications** _- Summary of knowledge, experience and education required._ + Entry level position + Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to handle difficult situations + Pro-active and collaborative mindset with an ability to work in fast paced team environment, handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines _This is not to be considered a complete list of job duties, as they may be amended or added to as needed._ Full time 510 Volvo Parkway,Chesapeake,Virginia 23320 Risk Management Family Dollar
