Job Description

The Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for executing a variety of shipping functions accurately and efficiently to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction. This role involves accepting, inspecting, stocking, and transferring products swiftly to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Accept and sign for deliveries from manufacturers.
• Unload shipments from delivery trucks and place them in designated locations using power equipment such as forklifts.
• Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, invoices, and orders to verify accuracy.
• Record shipment data, including weight, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting purposes.
• Process returns for any defective or incorrect items.
• Communicate with sales and purchasing teams to resolve issues related to delays, damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Maintain a clean warehouse environment.
• Lift up to 80 pounds, with frequent lifting of 40-60 pounds.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience in shipping and receiving.
• Proficiency in picking, packing, and material handling.
• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Experience in inventory management and order picking.
• Familiarity with labelling and packaging.

Work Environment

This position is located in a warehouse setting with some outdoor exposure. The environment may be cooler in winter and warmer in summer, as the temperature is not regulated. Employees will experience moderate to loud noise levels throughout the workday and will often handle parts that may be greasy. The role requires full-time commitment from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional late evening and weekend work as necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
