General Description:

Tyonek Services Group will provide field maintenance (to include phase maintenance and special inspections), limited sustainment level repair, aviation maintenance management, embedded support to the TDD-A/SID's Flight Test Division, prototype development of systems and products, and aircraft modifications and upgrades.

Duties:

  • Executes crew chief/mechanic/flight duties in all assigned aircraft
  • Must service/maintain assigned aircraft
  • Proficient using Aircraft Notebook (ACN) to complete aircraft logbook actions and to initiate work orders
  • Solve complex maintenance issues by using effective troubleshooting techniques associated with landing gear, hydraulics, engine, auxiliary power unit, powertrain, rotor, flight control, electrical, fuel, airframe, and utility systems
  • Must provide technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or original equipment manufactures' manuals
  • Use special tools, test measurement diagnostic equipment (TMDE), sheet metal brakes and sheers
  • Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and special project customers
  • Must safely use, energize, service, and repair applicable Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE)
  • Remove, Inspect, repair, modify, and install pertinent aircraft components and airframe structural members, per Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC)
  • Possess excellent, proactive organizational skills in replenishing bench stocks, petroleum products, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) items to complete hourly/calendar maintenance requirements and aircraft preventive maintenance services in a timely manner preferred
  • Provide ground support to flight operations (external load hook up, tethered hover ground crew, pace truck operations, etc) as needed
  • Demonstrate advanced capability in avionics troubleshooting and fault isolation, utilizing technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and test equipment to diagnose and repair aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
  • Perform system-level diagnostics and corrective maintenance on integrated avionics and flight test instrumentation, supporting rapid troubleshooting and aircraft return-to-flight during research and development operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Do you have a minimum of 10 years' experience, and recent experience working around research and development activity on classified projects?
  • Minimum of several years hands-on experience diagnosing aircraft avionics and electrical system faults using technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and electronic test equipment.
  • Other make-model aircraft maintenance experience is desirable
  • An FAA Airframe & Powerplant license is preferred
  • Qualified to participate in night flights using NVGs is preferred
  • Ability to pass an FAA Class III flight physical annually
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.
