Architect Engineering Mgr III
- Coordination and Policy Functions: Act for and in support of Executive Management.
- Division Management: Serve as State Engineer and direct the work of assigned engineering division.
- Policy Management: Manage statewide policies and procedures with oversight authority and responsibilities. Serve as an executive consultant to the districts in managing their programs.
- Staff Training and Development: Ensure staff development, performance planning, evaluation and recognition activities are completed to ensure a productive and motivated team.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences and to make presentations and conduct meetings.
- Ability to develop executive level correspondence and other documents for the agency and conduct meetings with a wide range of groups.
- Ability to develop, interpret, apply, and make changes to policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to establish working relations with multiple groups and stakeholders, to motivate subordinate staff, and to build working partnerships across organizational and geographical boundaries.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant state and federal laws, policies, regulations, and guidelines related to plans, standards and specifications.

- Knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices, agency and FHWA procedures and design specifications; and plan development and coordination.
- Knowledge of transportation and civil engineering principles and practices.
- Skill in providing and promoting good customer service to internal and external customers.
- Skill in the use of computers including engineering software applications.

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field.
- Experience applying civil and structural engineering principles and practices, agency and FHWA procedures and design specifications.
- Experience in managerial leadership principles, organizational methods, strategic planning, and budget management.
- Experience planning, organizing and directing a large and diverse organizational operation.
- Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
- Supervisory and leadership experience.
- Valid Professional Engineer's license.
