xScion is seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to support its customer’s enterprise program in modernizing and integrating data platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ETL development, database engineering, and data transformation to help design, implement, and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable data workflows.

As a Senior Data Engineer, You Will:

• Analyze source and target Microsoft SQL Server databases to understand data structures, dependencies, and underlying business logic.


• Perform and document data mapping analysis to define accurate and complete transformation rules.


• Translate mapping and business requirements into ETL design specifications .


• Design, build, and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, or other enterprise ETL tools .


• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional, technical, and compliance requirements.


• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL processes and database performance.


• Document ETL design, transformations, and processes for knowledge transfer and audit readiness.

To Be Successful, You Need:

• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency


• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in ETL development, database design, and data engineering.


• Strong expertise with SQL Server databases, including schema design, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.


• Proven experience building ETL solutions with Informatica, SSIS, or comparable tools .


• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts , data modeling, and metadata management.


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and in team settings.


• Excellent documentation and communication skills to interface with technical and business stakeholders.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial, healthcare, or government sectors).


• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data integration patterns.


• Knowledge of DevOps practices for data engineering (CI/CD pipelines, version control, automation).
