Job Opportunity: Outside Machinist

Location: Norfolk, VA

Pay: $20.00 – $30.00/hr

Schedule: Full-Time, Contract | 50–70 hrs/week | Up to 7 days/week (Overtime Required)

About the Role

We are seeking skilled Outside Machinists to install, align, maintain, and overhaul machinery across marine and industrial environments in Norfolk, VA. This role involves precision alignment, equipment overhaul, and working in varied shipyard and industrial conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, align, repair, and overhaul propulsion machinery and auxiliary systems.

- Perform machinery foundation setup and adjustments for compliance and safety.

- Test and inspect machinery during dockside and sea trials.

- Operate precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

- Uphold safety standards in high-noise and variable conditions.

Requirements

- 3+ years experience as an Outside Machinist (marine/industrial preferred).

- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

- Strong skills in alignment, repair, and precision measurement.

- Must be able to work in confined spaces, variable environments, and at heights.

- Must be available to work 50–70 hours per week, up to 7 days per week.
