Job Summary
If you're interested in an Entry Level Laboratory Technician job , then this is the best role for you ! This position performs routine testing on all samples in the Analytical Services laboratory, providing analytical data to support process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. The company operates a 24-hour Quality Control laboratory that runs on three rotating shifts.
Job Description
- Perform routine analytical testing as directed by protocols and work instructions.
- Work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Request additional work to increase team productivity.
- Prepare solutions, clean glassware, dispose of solid and liquid waste, and assist in overall laboratory operations.
- Train others in waste management procedures.
- Alert lab leadership of issues involving sample integrity, supply inventory, safety concerns, or analysis irregularities.
- Communicate troubleshooting opportunities in testing processes.
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance according to work instructions.
- Identify and communicate operational issues of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Understand and operate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Chromatography Data System (CDS), and other instrument-specific systems.
- Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards needed for analyses.
- Accurately record, calculate, and report analytical results.
- Review analytical data and LIMS reports.
- Communicate and discuss issues with team members and supervisors.
- Enter data for metrics and KPIs; identify and communicate process improvement opportunities.
- Assist in improving procedures and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Communicate testing results to customers as required and act with customer focus.
- Notify leads when supplies or consumables reach critical levels.
- Observe good safety and housekeeping practices.
- Participate in laboratory and site safety programs and cross-site initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and proper response to spills and leaks.
Skills Required
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in analytical work.
- Ability to diagnose common instrument issues independently and assist others.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills to optimize laboratory efficiency.
- Preferred: 3+ years of laboratory experience.
- Preferred: Understanding of basic HPLC and GC operation.
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma + a minimum of 1-year lab experience
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check
- Shift: 10:30 PM –06:00 AM
- Work eight-hour shifts with rotating days every three to four months.
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary : $15.00 to $22.94 per hour based on qualifications.
