Critical Systems Technician II/III, HVAC

Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.
- Support air and water balancing efforts to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment, including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various water pumps.
- Work with pneumatic, DDC, and variable frequency drive controls, as well as HVAC air distribution systems such as AHUs, FCUs, and fans.
- Utilize HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments to ensure system performance.
- Complete assigned tasks and other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the role.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4-7+ years preferred.
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles and basic electricity for HVAC systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.
- EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification required.
- HVAC/R Servicing Certificate preferred.
- Valid Virginia or Maryland driver’s license required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
