Advanced Manufacturing Process Operator
A day in the life
You arrive, sync with the Operations Team Lead, and bring multiple automated lines up to spec. You walk the cells, perform quick 5S and vehicle safety checks, verify guarding and PPE, and confirm that the equipment is set to run safely and efficiently within defined specifications. Throughout the shift, you balance quality, cost, and timing—adjusting machines, preventing stoppages, and ensuring that every product released meets customer requirements.
What you’ll do
- Champion safety: follow all policies, participate in the plant Safety Program, and report incidents and near misses promptly.
- Keep work areas audit‑ready through daily 5S and housekeeping; maintain a safe, clean environment for people and equipment.
- Run and monitor multiple production machines at once; maintain overall equipment effectiveness by preventing unplanned downtime and minimizing waste.
- Inspect product, follow quality protocols when defects appear, and make measured adjustments to correct issues.
- Document everything: complete charting, summarize rework and scrap, and enter results in the quality database to support the positive release program.
- Use measuring and quality inspection devices accurately.
- Collaborate with teammates to recommend and implement process improvements; support continuous improvement efforts to drive out waste and reduce operating costs.
- Work in compliance with BRC Food Safety Policy, GMPs, HACCP principles, ISO 14001, and OSHA requirements.
- Help develop SOPs and work instructions as needed.
- Operate in and around automated systems, including robotics.
- Perform and accurately record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks.
- Assist with SMA’s (trial runs), and support machinery installs, overhauls, and upgrades.
- Operate forklifts as required and provide break relief when needed.
- Take on other responsibilities as assigned.
What you’ll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and a detail‑oriented mindset.
- 2+ years in high‑volume manufacturing (preferred).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork, organization, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Basic computer and math skills to interpret drawings, review specifications and work instructions, and report line performance.
- Ability to work all shifts (8 or 12 hours), daylight and off‑shifts, plus weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Adaptability to evolving initiatives.
- Working knowledge of measuring devices.
