Job Title: Production Planner
Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: Stafford, VA (100% On-Site)
Estimated Salary: $60-$80,000 + Benefits
Position Summary
The Production Planner supports production planning and scheduling activities to ensure materials, resources, and manufacturing orders are aligned with customer demand and production objectives. This role partners closely with Procurement, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain production readiness, monitor material availability, and support the timely execution of production schedules.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in production planning , scheduling, manufacturing operations, or related fields
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field & equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis
- Proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Preferred Requirements
- Experience within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity
- Monitor work orders and production progress to ensure adherence to planned schedules
- Review material shortages and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize production disruptions
- Create, release, and maintain manufacturing work orders within the ERP system
- Support production readiness by ensuring materials, work orders, and planning data are accurate and available
- Update and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information, and planning parameters
- Track work order status, schedule attainment, production progress, material consumption, and output accuracy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve planning and scheduling issues
- Generate and maintain production, inventory, and planning reports
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing and program needs
