Work You'll Do

As a Transportation Strategy & Transformation Consultant on the Supply Chain & Network Operations team, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead a team of transportation analysts supporting Transportation Directorate governance, programs, and recurring operational priorities
  • Oversee quality of delivery and identify and manage risks affecting client service and team execution
  • Develop recommendations and draft updates for transportation policies, directives, and regulations
  • Manage policy exception requests, Defense Travel Regulation changes, and domicile-to-duty approval activities
  • Conduct research, analysis, reporting, and category management activities to support decision-making, process improvement, and cost reduction

Deloitte's Government & Public Services practice brings together people, ideas, technology, and outcomes designed for impact. Serving federal, state, and local government clients, as well as public higher education institutions, the team helps clients anticipate disruption, reimagine possibilities, and advance their mission.

Within that practice, the Supply Chain & Network Operations offering advises, implements, and operates transformational solutions that strengthen supply network capabilities across complex operating environments.

The Project Talent Model is designed for professionals with specialized skills that align to a current client need. Team members focus on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense transportation, logistics, or mobility operations
  • 3+ years of experience applying Department of Defense transportation policies, directives, and regulations, including the Defense Transportation Regulation
  • 3+ years of experience supporting airlift operations
  • 2+ years of experience working with the United States Maritime Administration, Military Sealift Command, and/or Transportation Command operations
  • Ability to work on-site in Alexandria up to 5 days a week
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting charter, commercial, and organic sealift requirements
  • Experience with the Jones Act and cargo preference requirements related to sealift
  • Experience with Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement, Voluntary Tanker Agreement, Transportation Service Provider, and Maritime Security Program activities
  • Experience supporting working groups or transportation system oversight efforts
  • Experience developing reports, metrics, and recommendations for senior-level stakeholders

This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,600 to $147,600.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
