Summary

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a Systems Administrator 1 to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex.

What You Will Do

• Oversee the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network administrators as needed.
• Monitor, maintain, and support servers, workstations, and network devices to ensure optimal performance.
• Install and configure operating systems and application software on servers and government-furnished equipment (GFE).
• Provide hands-on technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues across the organization.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies within Active Directory.
• Apply software patches and perform regular system updates to maintain security and functionality.
• Assist with system backups and conduct disaster recovery testing to safeguard data.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system enhancements.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior administrators when necessary.
• Ensure the security and privacy of all information systems in accordance with organizational policies.

What You Must Have

• 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with server administration (Windows/Linux)
• Security + Certification (or must have within 90 days of employment)

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
