Job Description

As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol in Suffolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure environment for a dynamic retail location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help deter potential security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide outstanding customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at the retail location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, sales floor, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe for unusual or suspicious activity and report findings in accordance with Allied Universal procedures.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and assisting store personnel as needed.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits to help to deter theft and unauthorized entry.
• Document and report all incidents, hazards, and security-related matters according to company guidelines.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed during critical events.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
