Senior Automation Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a high-impact direct hire opportunity with a rapidly growing Data Center company in the Washington, DC area.

This role is a key contributor to a newly established automation team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-level automations across all parts of the business. This is an exceptional opportunity to build out an enterprise automation platform from the ground up in one of the fastest-growing sectors in tech.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build, and maintain automations across multiple business functions using UiPath and other RPA/automation tools.

• Design and implement APIs from scratch to support automation and system integration initiatives.

• Integrate automation solutions with enterprise systems via APIs, middleware, and SQL/relational databases.

• Lead and mentor small automation team members, providing technical direction and guidance.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable automation solutions.

• Support master data management and ensure data integrity across automated workflows.

• Create and maintain thorough technical documentation for all automation designs and implementations.

• Prioritize and manage multiple automation projects in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 5–15 years of professional experience in automation engineering, system integration, or related technical roles.

• Deep hands-on experience with UiPath — RPA developer certification strongly preferred.

• Strong scripting skills with comfort working across scripting languages and APIs.

• Experience designing and implementing APIs from scratch.

• Proven experience leading small technical teams.

• Enterprise-level experience supporting multiple business functions in large-scale environments.

• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (no sponsorship available).

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with Alteryx for data analytics and workflow automation.

• Familiarity with middleware platforms and enterprise integration patterns.

• Background in master data management and relational database design.

• Experience in the Data Center or infrastructure industry.
