Job Opportunity: AC/R Technician

Location: Suffolk, VA

Pay: $25.00 – $31.00/hr

Schedule: Full-Time, Contract | 40 hrs/week

About the Role

We are seeking skilled AC/R Technicians to support commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems for shipyard and facility operations in Suffolk, VA. This role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of AC and refrigeration units to ensure reliable and efficient climate control and cold storage operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, troubleshoot, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and performance testing.

- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in AC/R systems.

- Replace compressors, motors, valves, belts, coils, and other system components.

- Charge systems with refrigerants and ensure EPA compliance.

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

- Maintain accurate service logs and comply with safety standards.

Requirements

- Would like 3+ years of experience as an AC or Refrigeration Technician.

- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.

- Proficiency with refrigeration cycles, electrical diagnostics, and cooling system troubleshooting.

- Ability to use gauges, meters, and diagnostic tools.

- HS diploma/GED; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.

- Must pass background check and drug screening.
