Job Description
Director of Sales
About Aevum Behavioral HealthAevum Behavioral Health delivers in-person mental health services — including talk therapy, psychiatry, and care management — directly to residents within skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) across Virginia. Our mission is to close the access gap for older adults and long-term care residents by bringing high-quality behavioral health care to where they already live. As we expand our footprint across the region, we're looking for a driven, relationship-focused Director of Sales to lead the charge in building new facility partnerships and growing our reach into more communities.
Position SummaryThe Director of Sales is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and closing new partnerships with skilled nursing and long-term care facilities across Virginia and neighboring markets. This is a high-impact, individually-driven role for someone who thrives on building relationships with facility administrators, DONs, and regional operators, and who wants to play a foundational role in scaling a growing behavioral health organization. This role reports directly to executive leadership and will be instrumental in shaping Aevum's go-to-market and expansion strategy.
What You'll DoIdentify and prospect new skilled nursing and long-term care facility partners across target expansion markets
Build and manage a pipeline of facility relationships from first outreach through signed partnership agreement
Develop and execute a territory/regional growth strategy in collaboration with executive leadership
Serve as the primary relationship owner for facility administrators, Directors of Nursing, and regional operators
Represent Aevum at facility visits, industry events, and regional conferences to build brand presence and generate referrals
Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new facility partnerships
Track outreach, pipeline activity, and partnership outcomes in CRM; report regularly on growth metrics
Stay current on SNF industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory considerations affecting behavioral health service delivery in long-term care settings
Provide market feedback to leadership to inform service line expansion and strategic planning
3+ years of experience in healthcare sales, business development, or facility partnership roles — experience with skilled nursing facilities, long-term care, or behavioral health strongly preferred
Proven track record of building a pipeline and closing new partnerships or contracts in a healthcare setting
Strong understanding of the SNF/long-term care landscape, referral relationships, and facility decision-making structures
Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills
Comfortable working independently and managing a regional travel schedule
Self-starter mentality — energized by building something rather than maintaining an existing book of business
Base Salary: $95,000 – $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Performance-based incentive/commission structure tied to new partnership growth
Mileage/travel reimbursement for regional travel
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Paid time off and company holidays
401(k) with company match
This is a remote-based role requiring regular regional travel throughout Virginia (and expansion markets as applicable) to visit prospective and current facility partners. Candidates should reside within the region and be comfortable with a travel schedule.
Aevum Behavioral Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
