Electrical Maintenance Technician
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues across all voltage types for both AC/DC systems.
- Ensure the proper operation of new and existing equipment and machinery.
- Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all machinery as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus, including transformers and electronic components on existing or older equipment.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment, installing new or repaired parts as needed.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machine components.
- Repair plumbing and piping systems, including air, hydraulic, steam, and PVC systems.
- Maintain and repair various pumps and filters associated with a chemical processing plant.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Assist other maintenance or operating personnel in repair work as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, trade or technical school certification, or equivalent.
- Master electrician license for the state of Virginia.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on heavy and moderate equipment.
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience in troubleshooting mechanical and fluid equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and safely with others to perform repairs and installations.
- Preferred: Knowledge of automation and programming PLC.
- Preferred: Certified in forklift operations.
