Solution Architect (Ft. Belvoir, VA)
BLN24 is an award-winning Management Consulting Firm that supports the U.S. Federal Government in successfully achieving their mission and goals. Our service and solutions delivery start with understanding each client’s end-state, and then seamlessly integrating within each Agency’s organization to improve and enhance strategic and technical operations and deployments. Position Overview:
BLN24 is seeking a Solution Architect to join our team. The Solution Architect will join our project to translate mission needs into implementable, secure, and scalable solution architecture across multiple highly regulated environments and successfully deliver MVP. This role is especially critical because deployment is anticipated in FedRAMP IL5 and SIPR environments, where architecture decisions must account for compliance constraints, boundary protections, identity and access controls, data segregation, hosting limitations, accreditation artifacts, and operational sustainment. The Solution Architect will oversee and help the System Integrator drive technical implementation by establishing design standards, validating hosting and integration patterns, reviewing configuration and customization decisions, coordinating cybersecurity, infrastructure, and mission stakeholders, and providing architectural governance throughout implementation and delivery of the MVP. The Solution Architect will also ensure that technical requirements are properly implemented by the System Integrator and that delivery remains aligned to the approved technical vision, security requirements, interoperability needs, and mission outcomes across both unclassified and classified operating environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and architect COTS/GOTS or custom solution to be hosted in Army’s NIPR and SIPR environments.
- Integrate COTS/GOTS or custom solution with external systems.
- Define solution that will fit Army’s requirements for SaaS, PaaS or AWS GovCloud computing.
- Understand and ensure security compliance and solution fit for the Army.
- Lead integration of SaaS COTS solutions, like Salesforce or Appian.
- Provide ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude) and refined cost models for proposals and migrations.
- Create and update reference architecture documentation, including specifications and diagrams.
- Support Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation and security reviews.
- Design secure connectivity between the application and Army enterprise systems while minimizing public network exposure.
- Define integration patterns using REST APIs, messaging, file transfer, event-driven architectures, and enterprise middleware.
- Define identity and access integration using enterprise authentication services including CAC, Active Directory, Entra ID (where applicable), SAML, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, cloud, engineering, system, application development.
- Experience integrating and deploying COTS SaaS and PaaS systems.
- Experience in architecting custom solutions and deployments in NIPR environments.
- Experience with Amazon AWS GovCloud and knowledge of AWS services and structures
- Excellent architecture skills and ability to develop architecture diagrams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Active CompTIA Security + certification
- Active AWS Professional certifications
