To accelerate achieving this objective, we are expanding our footprint in statistical modelling, advanced analytics, and machine learning. To help us evolve, we are looking for a skilled and motivated data scientist to join our central Data & Analytics team.In this role, you will help our product squads generate and leverage data-driven insights to solve complex business problems and generate value. You will work closely with other Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product specialists to analyze data, build diagnostic and predictive models, and develop analytical solutions that drive operational efficiencies and support decision-making* 4-7 years of experience in an Applied Data Science role or equivalent, ideally within the CPG, Consumer Products, Retail, Telecom, or Financial Services industries.* Solid knowledge and experience with modeling techniques such as Regression/GLM, Random Forest, Boosting, Deep Learning, text mining, and social network analysis. Experience with optimization techniques a plus.* Proficient with Python including familiarity with packages and frameworks for data manipulation and analysis (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and (Py)Spark for data processing and analysis.* Experience with data visualization tools such as matplotlib, Power BI, React, Dash.* Familiarity with SQL/Hive for data extraction and manipulation, as well as working with big data platforms such as the Hadoop ecosystem and Apache Spark.* Strong problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on data quality and accuracy.* Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present findings to stakeholders.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.* Required: Either academic or self-taught background related to Data Science* Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.* Preferred: Professional accreditation in Data Science; e.g. Azure Data Scientist Associate, CAP, DASCA SDS**Language Proficiency Requirements*** Candidates must possess strong bilingual communication skills, with fluency in both Japanese and English. The role requires the ability to navigate professional environments, engage in cross-cultural collaboration, and articulate ideas clearly in both languages.* Apply statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to develop predictive and prescriptive models that address specific to complex business problems.* Working predominantly with early-life MVPs and/or prototypes, seek to iteratively develop these into scalable analytics products.* Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
