A Day in the Life of a VC

As a Vocational Counselor, you aren't stuck behind a desk. You are the "boots on the ground" catalyst for success.

• The Matchmaker: Youll pair our consumers with local businesses, helping them navigate everything from the first interview to their first promotion.
• The Bridge: Youll educate employers on assistive technology and reasonable accommodations, turning "barriers" into "solutions."
• The Coach: Youll provide 1-on-1 on-site support, teaching workplace social skills and helping coworkers become "natural supports" for our consumers.
• The Strategist: Youll use tools like Asana and Google Suite to track progress, document success, and collaborate with the Person-Centered Planning (PCP) team.

• You are independent. You enjoy a "mobile office" and managing your own schedule.
• You are diplomatic. You can talk to a CEO one hour and a student the next.
• You are reliable. You have a valid drivers license and your own vehicle (we reimburse your mileage!).
• You are tech-literate. Youre comfortable with tablets and cloud-based software.

The Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or History & Arts;
  • OR Associate's Degree with 1 Year of relevant experience;
  • OR High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience: 3 Years of General Education/Tutoring Experience.
• Certifications: First Aid/CPR (Upon Employment) and Relias Training (Completed On-Site).
• Tech Skills: Proficiency in Workplace by Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Asana.
• Compliance: Valid Driver's License, personal transportation with proper insurance, and successful completion of Drug Screen and Background Checks (Federal, State, County).
