General Laborer
Description:

We are currently seeking a General Laborer to join our traveling field crews across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In this role, you’ll support construction and utility projects by performing a combination of skilled equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and hands‑on field labor under the direction of a Foreman or Crew Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled equipment operation for various field tasks Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
- Carry out manual labor activities including digging, trenching, and ground preparation.
- Lay conduit in the ground according to project specifications.
- Perform vegetation control tasks such as weed eating and trimming.
- Work under the direction of a Foreman or Crew Lead.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in required safety training.
- Support the crew with additional tasks to keep projects efficient and on schedule.
Top Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Strong balance and physical strength Ability to lift, push, and carry 50–70 pounds.
- Ability to carry a backpack and frequently walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb.
- Comfortable working in diverse outdoor environments, including all weather conditions and exposure to insects.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with telecommunications, coax, or fiber optic work.
Additional Qualifications:
- Self‑sufficient and reliable.
- Eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow with the company.
- Positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to travel.
Work Environment:
- Traveling position across VA, NC, and SC.
- Outdoor, physical field work in a variety of conditions.
- Collaborate with a small crew and contribute to a team‑oriented environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Ashland, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
