Certification Engineer (HVACR)
The HVACR industry doesn't move without the proper certifications. Whether your background is in the lab, design, or direct compliance for a major manufacturer within the HVAC or Refrigeration space, we are looking for your expertise. We are seeking a Certification Engineer for a non-profit governing body who can serve as a technical authority bridging the gap between global OEMs and third-party testing laboratories. In this role, you will ensure test accuracy, interpret global standards, and serve as the final word granting the "seal of approval" for unitary equipment. location: ARLINGTON, Virginia

salary: $100,000 - 130,000 per year
work hours: 8am to 4pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for 3rd-party labs; troubleshoot unit failures and setup errors to determine if issues stem from sensor calibration or product performance.
- Interpret and apply HVACR industry standards to unitary equipment.
- Review lab setups and test plans (Pre-Compliance) and validate raw data to process official certifications (Post-Compliance).
- Interface with regulatory bodies (DOE, CEC, NRCan) and support the development of international standards (ISO/IEC).
- Maintain precise technical records of all certification activities.
- Verify technical documents and qualification processes for third-party labs, including re-certification and operational manuals.
