Senior Accountant (Contract)

Location: Strasburg, VA
Position Type: Temporary Contract (30-60 Days)
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Pay Rate: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a short-term contract assignment in Strasburg, VA. This is an on-site role expected to last approximately 30-60 days. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger accounting and be able to quickly step into a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
• Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Generate accounting reports and support management with financial analysis as needed
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and customer receipts
• Assist with audit requests and documentation preparation
• Support additional accounting projects during the contract period

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant role
• Strong background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger accounting
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environments
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
• Ability to quickly learn company processes and contribute immediately

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
• Duration: 30-60 day contract assignment
• Location: On-site in Strasburg, VA
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
