We are seeking Full‑Stack Software Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies. As a Capital One Senior Manager Software Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

This role is part of the Risk Technology organization. In Risk Technology, we provide the foundation for Capital One to thrive in an uncertain world. We build data‑driven tools that use machine learning to prevent risks and automatically detect issues before they impact our business, our customers, or our communities. In this role you will lead a team of engineers that works with the Enterprise Services Risk Management function to create real‑time and intelligent risk‑management products powered by advanced technology such as Artificial Intelligence. You will not simply execute a roadmap; you will strategize which modern technologies will solve problems our stakeholders haven’t yet imagined.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full‑stack systems to alleges solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company.
• Share a passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.
• Build intelligent products that augment human decision‑making through automation and by leveraging advanced technological capabilities such as Agentic AI.
• Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud‑based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment.
• Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go; Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases; Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes; modern frameworks such as LangChain and a variety of AWS tools and services.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (internship experience does not apply).
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
• At least 4 years of people‑management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree.
• 9+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.
• 3+ years of experience with қоғ AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
• 4+ years of experience in open‑source frameworks.
• 7+ years of people‑management experience.
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
• 1+ year of experience in implementing AI or AI‑enabled solutions.
• Experience in applying Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning concepts to engineering challenges (e.g., anomaly detection, test optimization, intelligent testing).

McLean, VA: $229,900 – $262,400 for Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offeredbur to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely کوو in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long‑term incentives.
