ER RN Job Details – Virginia Healthcare Opportunity

• Location: La Crosse, VA 23950 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Facility: Community Hospital Emergency Department (16 beds)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 15, 2025 – December 15, 2025)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 4:1 (nights)
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960 per week

Emergency Room RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (temporary work authorization accepted with timely licensure)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS; TNCC and NRP preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Community hospital or acute care experience required
• Ability to float within scope as needed
• Fingerprinting required prior to start (per Virginia code)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Two professional references required

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
• Triage, assess, and manage patients with trauma, stroke, cardiac, and other medical emergencies
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies; manage arterial and central lines
• Assist with special procedures (POCT, splinting, codes, procedural sedation)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response)
• Utilize advanced medical equipment (Phillips monitors, Level 1 Infuser, Bair Hugger, ultrasound for IVs)
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC (preferred)
• Participate in orientation and required training modules
