Skype for Business Specialist (TS/SCI w/ FSP) - Microsoft Program | Herndon, VA (On-Site)

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) - REQUIRED

As a Skype for Business Specialist , you will support secure voice, messaging, and collaboration systems that enable real-time communication across national security operations.

This role directly supports high-availability communication platforms critical to mission continuity.

Fathom Management, Inc. is seeking Skype for Business Operations Engineers (Technician Level III, IV, or V) to support on-premises Skype for Business environments within a highly secure government setting .

This role focuses on operations, sustainment, troubleshooting, and performance management of enterprise unified communications systems, including voice, conferencing, presence, and messaging services .

Candidates must have active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) - this requirement is non-negotiable .

• W-2 Salary: $180,000/year

• 1099 Rate: $104.81/hour

• W-2 Salary: $218,000/year

• 1099 Rate: $136.06/hour

• W-2 Salary: $262,000/year

• 1099 Rate: $152.88/hour

• Perform daily operational management of on-premises Skype for Business infrastructure , including:

  • Front End Pools

  • Edge Services

  • Mediation Servers

  • Voice Components

• Maintain platform availability, reliability, and performance .

• Provide break-fix support and incident resolution for:

  • service outages

  • call quality issues

  • user connectivity problems

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

• Support enterprise communication services, including:

  • voice (PSTN integration)

  • conferencing

  • instant messaging (IM)

  • presence services

• Ensure seamless operation of real-time collaboration platforms .

• Monitor system health and performance using approved tools.

• Proactively identify and resolve capacity and performance issues .

• Maintain system stability in a high-availability environment .

• Perform routine maintenance activities, including:

  • patching and updates

  • certificate lifecycle management

  • configuration changes

  • service restarts

• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation .

• Ensure all activities comply with security requirements in classified environments .

• Support audit readiness and operational compliance standards .

• Follow Microsoft-supported configurations and best practices .

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) - REQUIRED

• 5+ years of experience supporting Skype for Business (on-premises)

• Strong experience with:

  • Skype infrastructure (Front End, Edge, Mediation servers)

  • incident troubleshooting and break-fix support

  • monitoring and platform sustainment

• Experience supporting:

  • voice systems and PSTN integration

  • enterprise communication platforms

• Experience working in classified or highly secure environments

• Strong understanding of Microsoft unified communications architecture

• Experience with Microsoft Teams or M365 unified communications

• Familiarity with Exchange integration in messaging environments

• Exposure to cloud-based communication platforms

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or federal systems

• 100% On-Site - Herndon, VA
