Collections Specialist
Kforce has a client in Alexandria, VA that is seeking a Collections Specialist. Job Summary: The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing assigned accounts to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances. This role focuses on professional communication with customers, resolving billing issues, and maintaining accurate records while supporting overall accounts receivable goals. Experience in a banking or financial services environment is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities:
- Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence regarding past due balances
- Review and analyze customer accounts to determine appropriate collection actions
- Negotiate payment plans in alignment with company policies
- Resolve billing discrepancies and customer concerns in a professional manner
- Maintain detailed and accurate notes within the collections system
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts accordingly
- Collaborate with internal teams such as accounting, customer service, and sales
- Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies and regulatory requirements
- 2+ years of collections experience
- No B2B collections experience is required - they will be collecting from the banking customers
- Basic Excel skills (used for documentation)
- Prior experience using a loan servicing or collections system required
