Job Summary:
As an FP&A Business Analyst, you will work closely with NS&E’s senior leadership team to provide financial planning and analytical support. You will be responsible for maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and your expertise and deliverables will drive strategic decision making and financial performance evaluation within our organization. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage data analytics to provide insightful business advice, and contribute to optimizing our financial reporting mechanisms. #LI-AM3
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare briefing packages for executive management including reports on performance and profitability for business line overhead and M&BD.
- Collaborate with other members of the FP&A team to ensure accuracy and validity of data on briefing packages and dashboards. Review and validate outputs to ensure alignment with organizational goals and reporting standards.
- Preparation, review, and analysis of budget forecasts and financial plans for NS&E Basic Overhead, Business Line Operations, M&BD, and pursuit performance.
- Input data into and extract information from various information systems and databases including CFAR, Hyperion and Power BI.
- Meet regularly with business line managers to advise them of trends and provide insight into their budget performance.
- Business partnership and collaboration
- Interact with Corporate FP&A team, other corporate service organizations, NS&E executive leadership and functional departments, BBS, NS&E Controller and Government Services.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and modeling to support business initiatives, risk assessment, and performance evaluation.
- Deployment and Maintenance:
Publish Power BI reports to the Power BI Service for secure access and sharing.
Implement security measures and role-based access controls to secure data access.
- Monitor report performance and troubleshoot any issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and best practices
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in a quantitative field of study, statistics, engineering, or finance.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience, preferably in FP&A but otherwise in finance or consulting role.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, conduct statistical analysis and data mining.
- Solid understanding of business processes, financial principles, and industry-specific metrics.
- Experience in engineering, construction, banking, or consulting industries is a plus.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have superior analytical and quantitative skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze, disseminate information and attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to solve practical problems and think creatively in using and analyzing data
- Preferred experience with financial analysis
- Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and working with large data sets
- Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to explain complex financial concepts in operational terms
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- High aptitude for learning quickly and assimilating information into concise summaries
- Demonstrate curiosity, self-learning, and complex problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with cross-functional and distributed teams
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Bechtel operations and organization
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ability to create and use complex spreadsheets
- Analytical skills to interpret plan vs forecast vs actual data and use complex adjustments to the stakeholders
- Skilled in oral and written communications
- Strong abilities in multi-tasking and prioritization of daily work
- Familiarity with Bechtel financial reporting tool CFAR
- Experience preparing PFSRs and working in Hyperion
- Moderate to advanced skill in PowerBI
