Prince William County Government has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Executive Assistant to the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) for the newly formed Transformation Management Office (TMO). This Office was established to develop, design, and lead strategic initiatives focused on improving the overall customer experience for residents, visitors, employees and those doing business in Prince William County. The Office will primarily focus its activities on process re-engineering and improvement, technology optimization and performance management.

This is a long-term temporary position funded through November 2025, offering accrued annual leave and optional medical, dental and vision coverage. About This Role In this role, you will perform administrative duties in support of the CTO and Transformation Office. Responsibilities will include developing and editing PowerPoint presentations and project management timelines; and assisting with data reporting and dashboards. Preferences The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and 4 years of administrative support experience. We seek a self-starter, with the ability to take initiative and work semi-independently, with strong time-management and computer proficiency. Typical duties, knowledge and skills needed for the job include the following:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word; Excel;
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and tools for creating Project Charting (Gantt Charts)
    • Prefer working knowledge of Power BI, Web Analytics, data visualization and publications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, verbal and written communication, organization, adaptability, problem-solving, customer service, juggle many tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, support and oversee daily TMO
  • Prepare documents and reports, compiling records, scheduling meetings, organizing, and maintaining information, coordinating calendars, analyzing data
  • Assist in routine travel arrangements; maintain inventory of office equipment and supplies
  • Gather information from office records to draft e-mails, memos, and other documents
  • Establish and maintain work unit files and databases
  • Arrange meetings, coordinate special events, conferences, and other functions
  • Assist with development, design, and production of publications
  • Assist TMO Chief with the resolution of issues or conflicts by investigating/researching issues and making recommendations
  • Compose written communication and proofread documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting
  • Serve as resource to others on a variety of subjects including office equipment, software application usage, and information processing procedures
  • May serve as an office coordinator for work unit; plan and facilitate the support activities of an office or work unit; coordinate with others to complete tasks
  • May prepare, process, and review forms for payroll/human resource system input
  • Respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning TMO from internal and external contacts
  • Create and maintain files, databases, and reports
  • Generate, prepare, and maintain financial reports and spreadsheets, and authorize processing of payments; may assist with budget preparation and projections
  • Compile and organize information from different sources to develop agendas, meeting materials, and reports; may take and compose minutes
  • Assist with planning and coordination of moderately complex projects
  • May design and maintain web pages in collaboration with County Communications
  • May develop, design, and produce publications in accordance with established county policies/regulations in collaboration with County Communications
  • Coordinate back-up support as needed
  • Serve as resource to others on a variety of subjects including office equipment, software application usage, and information processing procedures.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 5pm, with flexibility to work additional hours if needed. Starting Salary Range: Commensurate with experience. Special Requirements: The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.
