Credit Analyst (McLean)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our client’s growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in evaluating loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, and ensuring the integrity of financial data for real estate financing transactions. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in financial analysis or credit evaluation, particularly in the real estate or lending industry. The Credit Analyst will work closely with the sales, processing, and legal teams to support efficient loan origination and mitigate risk, ensuring every deal aligns with the company’s high standards. This position has the unique ability to take over client management duties for additional commission pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate real estate loan applications, including credit reports, title insurance, income & asset documentation, and other verifications.
- Analyze appraisals, financial statements, construction budgets, tax returns, and other relevant documentation for quality and accuracy.
- Perform credit analysis for loan originations, including evaluating credit scores, payment history, and financial viability.
- Collaborate with legal and processing teams to ensure compliance with company policies, especially related to property title work.
- Audit closed files to ensure adherence to company policies and conduct quality control checks to address discrepancies.
- Work closely with the sales and leadership teams to assess potential risks and identify compensating factors in loan applications.
- Update loan origination systems and ensure all data is accurate, complete, and meets company requirements.
- Coordinate with external vendors for capital market purposes and assist in closing loans to meet deadlines.
- Provide clear communication on credit decisions and collaborate across departments to ensure smooth loan transactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis, preferably in the real estate industry.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines under pressure, and maintain high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively within and outside the organization.
Pay & Benefits
- $70,000 to $80,000 base salary, future potential for commission
