Sr. Business Analyst - People Strategy & Analytics

As a Senior Business Analyst within the People Strategy and Analytics team, you will be a key architect of Capital One’s future talent landscape. Working at the intersection of data and strategy, you will partner with senior leaders and HR Business Partners to define our destination workforce. You won’t just build the plan—you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to bring it to life, monitoring our collective progress and leveraging advanced analytics to influence the trajectory of our business strategy.

General Responsibilities:

• Partner with colleagues across different functions to identify business challenges and opportunities to improve workforce planning

• Use modeling and analytics to generate actionable insights into strategic or tactical solutions

• Leverage communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to influence business leaders to act on your insights

• Establish and maintain effective feedback loops with business partners to monitor the effectiveness of analytical solutions and iterate as needed

• Mature proven analytical solutions into robust and resilient products and processes using industry leading practices and technology

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

  • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

• 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building

• 1+ years of experience in market research

• 1+ years of experience in SQL querying

• 1+ years of experience in Python

• 2+ years of experience in business analysis

• 1+ years of experience in consulting

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business Analyst

Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
