Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join the finance team in Manassas, VA. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing general accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support decision-making through accurate financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate financial statements and regulatory reporting documents.

Manage month-end and year-end close processes.

Reconcile account balances and bank statements.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights.

Support internal and external audits.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.

Develop, implement, and monitor financial controls and procedures.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

Prepare and submit tax filings and other regulatory reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior-level role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with SAGE ERP systems.

Public accounting background preferred.

Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
